What goes wrong with the AdBlue system on a Citroën C4 BlueHDi?

The AdBlue tank and its pump can fail, triggering a warning that the engine will not restart within a set distance. Check whether the tank has been replaced or the warning shows.

Can a diesel Citroën C4 enter low-emission zones?

A Euro 6 diesel C4, registered from about 2015, carries the C label and can drive in low-emission zones. Euro 4 and 5 HDi cars get the B, which Madrid and Barcelona restrict more and more.

Does the Citroën C4 HDi particulate filter cause problems?

On HDi engines the filter uses its own additive that must be topped up, and town-only driving stops it regenerating. A diesel C4 that rarely sees open road is a poor buy.
