Question 1

What is the difference between the Berlingo M and XL?

Accepted Answer

Since the 2018 generation the Berlingo van comes in two lengths: M, the standard version, and the longer XL with a larger load area. The ficha técnica gives the version and the payload it is approved for.

Question 2

Is the electric ë-Berlingo worth considering?

Accepted Answer

It carries the DGT zero label, which eases access to low-emission zones in large Spanish cities. Ask for a battery health report and check the charging socket and the cable that comes with it.

Question 3

Are the Peugeot Partner and Opel Combo the same van?

Accepted Answer

Since 2018 the Berlingo, Partner, Combo and Toyota Proace City share one platform; earlier Berlingos were twinned with the Partner only. Mechanical parts are largely common, so a twin can be a fair alternative.

Question 4

How often does a Berlingo van go to the ITV?

Accepted Answer

As a light commercial vehicle it is inspected more often than a passenger car of the same age. Delivery vans do many short trips, so look closely at the clutch, the suspension and the sliding door runners.
