Question 1

Does BMW make a van?

Accepted Answer

BMW has never built a commercial van. Its van-shaped models are the 2 Series Active Tourer and Gran Tourer MPVs; any other BMW sold as a van is a car registered for commercial use, which its ficha técnica will show.

Question 2

BMW 2 Series Active Tourer or Gran Tourer?

Accepted Answer

The Gran Tourer is longer, with a longer wheelbase and an optional third row for seven seats. The Active Tourer is the five-seater, and the only one that continued into a second generation from 2022.

Question 3

What label does the BMW 225xe plug-in hybrid get?

Accepted Answer

Plug-in BMWs carry the CERO label when their homologated electric range is long enough and ECO otherwise, so check the label on the car's documents. The 225xe pairs a petrol engine at the front with an electric motor driving the rear wheels, giving it four-wheel drive.

Question 4

Are these BMWs rear-wheel drive?

Accepted Answer

No: the Active Tourer and Gran Tourer were BMW's first front-wheel-drive cars, sharing their platform with the MINI. Some versions add xDrive four-wheel drive.
