Is the BMW 1 Series big enough for a family?

The F40 and F70, built from 2019, have usable rear seats and a boot that suits a small family. The older rear-drive cars are tight in the back, because the drivetrain takes up space.

Is there a three-door BMW 1 Series?

Yes, the E81 and F21 three-doors were sold until 2019. Since the F40 every 1 Series has five doors.

Should I choose a rear-wheel-drive BMW 1 Series?

The rear-drive E87 and F20 are more engaging to drive and offer six-cylinder versions such as the M140i. The front-drive F40 is roomier and better on fuel, which suits most everyday use.

From €2,999 to €61,900, half under €22,900 · Typically 2022 with 68,842 km. The 1 Series is BMW's smallest car, and until 2019 it was rear-wheel drive, unusual in its class, at some cost to rear legroom and boot space. The front-drive F40 and F70 traded that layout for a roomier cabin and dropped the three-door.
