Question 1

Does sea air harm a used Audi in Valencia?

Accepted Answer

Galvanised Audi bodywork resists rust well, but cars parked near the port or the beaches can show corrosion on brake discs, exhaust clamps and underbody fixings. Look underneath and check that the discs are not deeply pitted.

Question 2

What should I check on a used plug-in hybrid Audi?

Accepted Answer

Ask what electric range it achieves now against the original figure, and check that the charging cable comes with the car. A TFSI e with 40 km or more of official electric range carries the CERO label; shorter-range versions get ECO.

Question 3

Does Valencia have a low-emission zone?

Accepted Answer

Spanish law requires towns with more than 50,000 inhabitants to set up low-emission zones, and Valencia is phasing its own in. Access depends on the DGT environmental label, so an older Audi with no label faces the most restrictions.

Question 4

Is it safer to buy a used Audi from a dealer or a private seller?

Accepted Answer

A dealer must give at least one year's warranty on a used car, and the sale carries no ITP. A private sale is often cheaper, but the buyer pays ITP to the Valencian tax agency and, if a fault appears, has only the civil-law claim for hidden defects.
