Question 1

Is a quattro Audi worth paying for in Seville?

Accepted Answer

Rarely for the roads themselves: Seville is flat, snow is almost unknown and front-wheel drive copes with occasional rain. Quattro adds weight and fuel use, so choose it for towing, trips into the mountains or the way it drives rather than out of necessity.

Question 2

What does Seville's heat do to a used Audi?

Accepted Answer

It shortens the life of the 12-volt battery and wears the air-conditioning compressor, and years parked in the sun crack dashboards and harden door seals. Run the air conditioning on full during a test drive and look over the cabin trim closely.

Question 3

Are older Audi TFSI petrol engines reliable?

Accepted Answer

Some 1.8 and 2.0 TFSI engines built around 2008 to 2012 were known for heavy oil consumption, which Audi later addressed with revised parts. Ask whether that work was done and check the oil level before driving.

Question 4

Who pays the IVTM on a used Audi in the year it is sold?

Accepted Answer

The road tax is owed by whoever owns the car on 1 January, so the seller pays that year's IVTM in full. Buyer and seller can agree to split it, but Seville City Council bills the owner on record at that date.
