Question 1

Can a used Audi enter Barcelona's low-emission zone?

Accepted Answer

The ZBE Rondes de Barcelona bars cars with no DGT label from Monday to Friday, 7am to 8pm. Any Audi with a B, C, ECO or CERO label may enter, so check the sticker or the DGT record before you buy.

Question 2

Which DGT label does a used Audi carry?

Accepted Answer

Petrol Audis registered from 2006 and Euro 6 diesels, generally registered from 2015, get the C label; older diesels usually get B. Mild hybrids get ECO, and TFSI e plug-ins with at least 40 km of electric range get CERO.

Question 3

Who pays tax on a private Audi sale in Barcelona?

Accepted Answer

The buyer pays ITP to the Catalan tax agency, calculated on the official value Hacienda assigns to that model and age, and then files the transfer with the DGT. Buying from a dealer carries no ITP.

Question 4

What should I check on an Audi with S tronic?

Accepted Answer

S tronic dual-clutch gearboxes need servicing to Audi's schedule, and Barcelona's stop-start traffic works them hard. Ask for proof of the gearbox service and watch for juddering or hesitation when pulling away slowly.
