Which diesel engine does the Audi Q2 have?

The Q2 was sold with the 1.6 TDI and with the 2.0 TDI in several outputs, all from the EA288 family. The 2.0 TDI is the only diesel that can have quattro.

Was the Audi Q2 TDI affected by dieselgate?

No: the Q2 arrived in 2016 with EA288 engines, which replaced the EA189 at the centre of the scandal. Even so, check that the particulate filter and, on later cars, the AdBlue system work properly.

Is a diesel Audi Q2 better than a petrol one?

It suits drivers covering long motorway distances, where the TDI uses less fuel and the particulate filter regenerates by itself. For short urban trips a TFSI petrol is usually the better buy.
