Which Audi A5 diesel engine is the most reliable?

The 2.0 TDI is the common, economical choice, and the second generation's version is the more refined. The V6 3.0 TDI is strong and smooth but dearer to repair, as its timing chains sit at the back of the engine.

What should I check on a used Audi A5 diesel?

Short urban trips clog the particulate filter and EGR valve, so an A5 used mainly in town needs a closer look. On the 3.0 TDI, listen for timing-chain rattle at a cold start.

Can an Audi A5 diesel enter Spanish low-emission zones?

A Euro 6 diesel A5, registered from 2015 onward, carries the DGT's C label, which most zones admit. Older Euro 5 diesels carry B and face more restrictions.
