Which automatic gearbox is best in a used Audi A5?

The S tronic dual-clutch and the tiptronic torque converter are the safer choices in an Audi A5. The multitronic CVT, fitted to first-generation front-wheel-drive cars, has the weakest reliability record.

What should I check on an Audi A5 with S tronic?

Drive the A5 from a standstill and in slow traffic: judder or hesitation points to the clutch pack or the mechatronic unit. Ask whether the gearbox oil has been changed at Audi's intervals.

Which DGT label does an automatic Audi A5 carry?

Petrol A5s carry the C label, as do Euro 6 diesels from 2015 onward, while older diesels carry B. The label decides access to the low-emission zones of Spanish cities.
