Question 1

What should I check on an Alfa Romeo with a MultiAir engine?

Accepted Answer

The MultiAir unit that controls the intake valves is sensitive to oil quality and level, so look for regular oil changes to the specified grade. A rough idle or an engine warning light can point to a worn actuator.

Question 2

Which Alfa Romeo models get the ECO or CERO label?

Accepted Answer

Hybrid Tonale and Junior versions carry the ECO label, while the plug-in Tonale and the electric Junior get CERO. Petrol models from 2006 onwards usually carry the C label, but a diesel needs Euro 6 for C; Euro 4 and 5 diesels get B.

Question 3

Is an Alfa Romeo easy to service in Spain?

Accepted Answer

Alfa Romeo belongs to Stellantis, and older models share many engines and parts with Fiat, so independent workshops can handle much of the routine work. The official network is thinner than that of mainstream brands in some provinces, which matters for Giulia and Stelvio electronics.

Question 4

What does the Alfa Romeo Quadrifoglio badge mean?

Accepted Answer

The four-leaf clover marks Alfa Romeo's highest-performance versions, such as the Giulia and Stelvio Quadrifoglio. Expect higher costs for insurance, tyres and brakes, and ask for proof of specialist servicing.
