Question 1

Which engine do petrol Abarth 595 and 695 models use?

Accepted Answer

They use the 1.4 T-Jet turbocharged four-cylinder, tuned to different outputs by version and year. Competizione and 695 versions add firmer suspension and bigger brakes, so they ride harder on broken roads.

Question 2

What should I check on a used Abarth in Spain?

Accepted Answer

Check the clutch, the turbo for smoke or whistling, and the brakes and tyres for signs of track use. A recent ITV report and the car's record at the DGT help confirm its mileage and ownership.

Question 3

Which DGT environmental label does a petrol Abarth get?

Accepted Answer

A petrol Abarth first registered from 2006 onwards normally qualifies for the C label, which gives access to most low-emission zones. The DGT website shows the exact label for any registration number.

Question 4

Do I pay ITP when buying a used Abarth from a private seller in Spain?

Accepted Answer

Yes, a private sale pays ITP, at a rate set by your autonomous community on the official valuation of the car. A sale by a dealer does not pay ITP.
