What is the difference between the petrol Smart fortwo and forfour?

The fortwo has two seats and is about 2.7 metres long; the forfour has four seats and five doors. In the 453 generation they share engines and gearboxes, so the choice comes down to space.

Is the petrol Smart still made?

No: since 2020 Smart has built only electric cars. Petrol fortwo and forfour models are found only on the used market.

Which gearbox should you choose on a used petrol Smart?

In the 453 generation, the five-speed manual and the twinamic dual-clutch are both smoother than the 451's automated manual. On a 451, test drive it in traffic to judge how much it jerks between gears.
