Do electric Smarts pay IUC road tax in Portugal?

No: fully electric cars are exempt from IUC in Portugal. The exemption covers both the EQ fortwo and the Smart #1.

What range does a used Smart EQ fortwo have?

The EQ fortwo's range is short and meant for daily city driving, not trips. Check whether it has the optional 22 kW on-board charger, which greatly shortens AC charging.

What is the difference between the Smart EQ fortwo and the Smart #1?

The EQ fortwo is a rear-engined two-seat city car; the Smart #1 is a five-seat compact SUV built with Geely since 2022. The #1 takes DC fast charging and handles long journeys.
