Which manual gearbox do the SEAT Ibiza and SEAT Leon use?

The Ibiza and Leon use five- or six-speed manual gearboxes depending on the engine. The more powerful versions, such as the 2.0 TDI, usually have six speeds.

How do you check the clutch on a used manual SEAT?

A worn clutch slips when you accelerate in a high gear or bites right at the top of the pedal's travel. On diesel SEATs with a dual-mass flywheel, vibration when pulling away or at idle deserves a closer look.

Is a manual SEAT more economical than a SEAT with a DSG gearbox?

The difference in fuel use is small and depends more on the engine and driving style than on the gearbox. The manual's advantage is simpler maintenance than the dual-clutch DSG.
