What problems does the Peugeot 308 BlueHDi have?

The most reported faults are in the AdBlue system, which shows a warning and counts down the miles before blocking the engine from starting. The particulate filter and EGR valve also suffer when the car only does short trips.

Which Peugeot 308 diesel engine is most economical?

The 130 hp 1.5 BlueHDi, fitted from 2018, is the newest and most efficient. The 1.6 BlueHDi before it is also frugal and common in second-generation 308s.

Does a diesel Peugeot 308 pay more road tax in Portugal?

Yes, diesel passenger cars pay a surcharge on top of the IUC, rising with engine size. On a 1.5 or 1.6 BlueHDi it is moderate, but worth counting against a 1.2 PureTech.

From €1,890 to €35,500, half under €12,000 · Typically 2019 with 150,000 km. Diesel 308s span all three generations, from the 1.6 HDi to the 1.5 BlueHDi. BlueHDi engines use AdBlue, whose tank and heater have well-known faults, and the particulate filter needs regular open-road runs to regenerate, struggling on purely urban use.
