Which diesel engine is best in the Peugeot 2008?

The first-generation 1.6 BlueHDi is a well-known engine with parts easy to find. Some newer 1.5 BlueHDi engines have suffered timing chain wear, so ask for the service history and listen to the engine from cold.

Does the Peugeot 2008 diesel need AdBlue?

Yes, BlueHDi engines use AdBlue from a separate tank that is filled on its own. An emissions fault warning on the dash can mean a failed AdBlue pump or sensor, a repair to settle before you buy.

Does a diesel Peugeot 2008 pay more road tax in Portugal?

Yes, diesel cars in Portugal pay an extra IUC surcharge on top of the engine size and CO2 components. Include it in the yearly running cost when comparing with a petrol 2008.
