Question 1

How do the two Peugeot 2008 generations differ?

Accepted Answer

The first generation is shorter and simpler, close to a raised 208 hatchback. The second, from 2019, is longer, roomier in the back and the only one offered as the electric e-2008.

Question 2

Diesel or petrol for driving around Porto?

Accepted Answer

For regular motorway trips a BlueHDi diesel is economical. For mostly short urban runs a PureTech petrol or the e-2008 is the better match, since short trips do a modern diesel's particulate filter no favours.

Question 3

What should I know about the Peugeot 2008's PureTech timing belt?

Accepted Answer

The 1.2 PureTech's belt runs in oil and can degrade early, especially if services were missed. Ask for proof of oil changes with the correct oil and of any belt check or replacement.

Question 4

How is ownership of a Peugeot 2008 transferred?

Accepted Answer

The change of owner is recorded at the Registo Automóvel, online or in person. Before paying, confirm the IUC is up to date and the IPO inspection is valid.
