Question 1

Is the Peugeot 2008 a real off-roader?

Accepted Answer

No. It rides higher than a 208 and copes with dirt tracks, but it is front-wheel drive only. Grip Control, where fitted, adjusts traction for mud, sand or wet grass, but it does not replace four-wheel drive.

Question 2

What is the Peugeot 2008's i-Cockpit, and will it suit me?

Accepted Answer

Peugeot pairs a small steering wheel with raised instruments that you read over the rim. Depending on seat height, some drivers find part of the display hidden, so try it before buying.

Question 3

Should I choose an electric or a combustion Peugeot 2008?

Accepted Answer

The e-2008 shares the body and boot, is exempt from the IUC in Portugal and is quiet in town. It makes sense if you can charge at home or at work; for frequent long journeys, the BlueHDi diesel remains an alternative.

Question 4

What needs checking on the Peugeot 2008's 1.2 PureTech?

Accepted Answer

Its timing belt runs in engine oil and can break down early, which can block the oil supply. Ask for records showing the belt was inspected or replaced and that the specified oil was used.
