Is the Nissan Qashqai 1.5 dCi engine reliable?

The Renault-sourced 1.5 dCi is economical and widespread, but older units with stretched oil-change intervals have suffered worn big-end bearings. An up-to-date service history is the best indicator.

Can you still buy a new diesel Nissan Qashqai?

No, the current Qashqai, launched in 2021, only has electrified petrol engines. A diesel Qashqai is always a J10 or J11.

Is a used diesel Nissan Navara a good buy?

The Navara NP300 with the 2.3 dCi is tough for work and four-wheel drive, but check the clutch and signs of heavy towing. On the D40 generation with the 2.5 dCi, chassis corrosion and cracking have been reported.
