Question 1

Which toll class does a Hyundai SUV pay on Portuguese motorways?

Accepted Answer

It depends on the height measured at the front axle. A passenger car of 1.10 m or more falls into class 2, but many pay class 1 when fitted with a Via Verde device, so check the toll class of the exact car before buying.

Question 2

What should I check on a used Hyundai Kona Electric?

Accepted Answer

Early Kona Electric cars were part of a battery recall, so confirm with a Hyundai dealer that any recall work has been completed. The high-voltage battery carries its own warranty of eight years or 160,000 km from first registration.

Question 3

Do hybrid and plug-in Hyundai Tucsons pay IUC?

Accepted Answer

Yes, IUC is based on engine size and CO2 emissions, and for a plug-in hybrid it is usually low. Only fully electric SUVs such as the Kona Electric and Ioniq 5 are exempt.

Question 4

Does every Hyundai Tucson have four-wheel drive?

Accepted Answer

No. Hyundai's four-wheel-drive system is called HTRAC and is fitted to only some versions. Confirm it from the car's specification rather than assuming it from the trim name.
