Which is the best diesel engine in the Audi A3?

The common-rail 2.0 TDI, especially the 150 PS version in the A3 8V, strikes the best balance of performance and economy. The 1.6 TDI is enough for mixed use and cheaper to run.

Is the pump-injector Audi A3 2.0 TDI reliable?

Is a diesel Audi A3 worth it for town driving only?

Rarely: the A3 TDI's particulate filter needs regular open-road runs to regenerate. For short trips, a petrol A3 1.0 or 1.5 TFSI causes fewer headaches.
