Question 1

Which Crit'Air sticker does a Peugeot 508 get?

Accepted Answer

It depends on the fuel and the emissions standard. Euro 6 petrol and plug-in hybrid versions get Crit'Air 1, while Euro 5 and Euro 6 diesels get Crit'Air 2. The sticker is ordered online using the details on the carte grise and decides entry to low-emission zones (ZFE).

Question 2

What should I check on a Peugeot 508 BlueHDi diesel?

Accepted Answer

BlueHDi engines clean their exhaust with AdBlue, so look for warning messages about the AdBlue system or a countdown to a no-restart lockout. A diesel that has mostly done short urban trips may also have a clogged particulate filter.

Question 3

How does the Peugeot 508 Hybrid differ from the petrol and diesel versions?

Accepted Answer

The second generation is also sold as a plug-in hybrid that pairs a petrol engine with an electric motor and a battery charged from the mains. It qualifies for Crit'Air 1 and suits drivers who can charge at home; driven without charging it behaves like a heavier petrol car.

Question 4

What paperwork comes with a used Peugeot 508 in France?

Accepted Answer

The seller hands over the carte grise crossed out and signed, a déclaration de cession and a certificat de situation administrative. If the car is over four years old, a contrôle technique less than six months old is also required.
