Question 1

What is the weak point of the Grandland X 1.2 petrol?

Accepted Answer

The 1.2 three-cylinder uses a timing belt that runs in engine oil, and it can wear early if the oil is the wrong grade or is changed late. Ask for proof of oil changes and of a belt inspection or replacement.

Question 2

Do diesel Grandland X have AdBlue problems?

Accepted Answer

The diesels use AdBlue to cut NOx emissions, and a fault in the tank, pump or heater triggers a warning and a countdown after which the engine will not restart. Check the dashboard for warnings and ask whether the system has already been repaired.

Question 3

What should I check on a plug-in hybrid Grandland X?

Accepted Answer

Ask for the battery's state of health from a dealer diagnostic and check that the charging cable is included. The plug-in hybrid gets the Crit'Air 1 sticker, which gives access to low-emission zones.

Question 4

Is the Grandland X the same car as the Peugeot 3008?

Accepted Answer

It shares the platform, engines and gearboxes of the second-generation Peugeot 3008, with its own body and interior. Parts and workshops are therefore easy to find across France.
