Actions

Is the Ford 1.0 EcoBoost engine reliable?

The 1.0 EcoBoost is reliable when serviced on time with the specified oil, but early engines had cooling-system weaknesses that could lead to overheating. Its oil-immersed timing belt must be changed at the interval Ford sets, so ask for proof it was done.

Which Crit'Air sticker does a used petrol Ford get?

A petrol Ford registered from 2011 onwards gets Crit'Air 1, and one from 2006 to 2010 gets Crit'Air 2. That makes petrol Fords easier to use in French low-emission zones than diesels of the same age.

Should I buy a petrol or diesel Ford in France?

For mostly short and urban trips, a petrol Ford is the safer choice: it avoids particulate filter problems and gets a better Crit'Air sticker. A diesel only pays off for drivers who cover long distances every year.
