Question 1

What is the difference between the DS 7 Crossback and the DS 7?

Accepted Answer

They are the same car: DS dropped the Crossback name at the 2022 facelift, which brought a new front end and more E-Tense versions. Pre-facelift cars are sold as DS 7 Crossback.

Question 2

Is the PureTech timing belt a concern on the DS 7?

Accepted Answer

On the 1.2 PureTech 130, the timing belt runs in oil and can wear early. Ask for invoices showing it was checked or replaced on schedule, and ask a DS dealer whether Stellantis's extended cover for this fault applies to the car. The larger 1.6 PureTech uses a chain.

Question 3

What should I check on a DS 7 E-Tense?

Accepted Answer

Make sure the charging cable comes with the car, and test the electric range on a full charge. The plug-in hybrid gets Crit'Air 1, while BlueHDi diesels carry Crit'Air 2.

Question 4

What is the DS 7's Active Scan Suspension?

Accepted Answer

Fitted to some versions, it uses a camera to read the road ahead and adjusts each damper before the wheel reaches a bump. Check that no suspension warning appears on the instrument panel.
