Is a manual VW T-Roc better than the DSG?

The manual is cheaper to maintain and avoids the cost of a dual-clutch repair. The DSG is smoother in traffic and was the only choice on the most powerful versions.

Which VW T-Roc engines have a manual gearbox?

The 1.0 TSI, the 1.5 TSI and the front-wheel-drive TDI diesels were offered with a six-speed manual. The 2.0 TSI and the T-Roc R came with the DSG.

What should I check on a used manual VW T-Roc?

Test the clutch on a hill start and, on diesels, listen at idle for a rattling dual-mass flywheel. Gear changes should be light and precise; a crunching change deserves a closer look.
