What is the best diesel engine in the SEAT Ibiza?

The 1.6 TDI common rail is the most balanced diesel in the Ibiza, smoother and quieter than the three-cylinder engines. The 1.2 TDI uses little fuel but is rougher and weaker on the open road.

Was the SEAT Ibiza 1.6 TDI affected by Dieselgate?

Yes, the Ibiza 6J's 1.2 and 1.6 TDI belong to the EA189 family covered by the Volkswagen Group's emissions fix. On a used car, check with a SEAT dealer that the update was carried out.

Can you still buy a new diesel SEAT Ibiza?

No, the Ibiza facelifted in 2021 has only petrol engines. A diesel Ibiza is always used, from the 6J or the 6F up to that facelift.
