Question 1

Which Renault Kangoo diesel engine is the most reliable?

Accepted Answer

The 1.5 dCi is the most common Kangoo diesel and, with regular oil changes, covers high mileages. On older ones, watch for injector wear and crankshaft bearing noise, and confirm the timing belt was changed at Renault's interval.

Question 2

What is the difference between the Renault Kangoo passenger and van versions?

Accepted Answer

The passenger Kangoo has five seats and rear windows; the van, or Kangoo Express, usually has two seats and a closed load area. Check the Portuguese registration document to see whether it is registered as a passenger or goods vehicle, since that changes the seats and the tax.

Question 3

Does the Renault Kangoo Blue dCi need AdBlue?

Accepted Answer

Yes, the third-generation Kangoo with the Blue dCi engine uses AdBlue, topped up in its own tank every few thousand kilometres. Diesel Kangoos from earlier generations generally do not use it.
