Question 1

Do Porto's cobbled streets wear a Clio's suspension?

Accepted Answer

Constant cobbles load the front suspension, especially the anti-roll bar links and bushes, which then knock over bumps. A test drive on rough streets reveals it quickly, and Clio parts are easy to find.

Question 2

Is the LPG Clio worth considering?

Accepted Answer

The fifth-generation Clio was offered with a factory LPG version that runs on autogas as well as petrol. Ask for the gas system's service record and check on the test drive that it runs smoothly on both fuels.

Question 3

Does the E-Tech hybrid suit Porto's hills?

Accepted Answer

The hybrid recovers energy on the way down and moves off on electric power, which suits steep, slow streets. Its automatic gearbox also spares the hill starts that wear a manual clutch.

Question 4

How often does a used Clio need the IPO inspection?

Accepted Answer

A passenger car has its first IPO at four years, then every two years until it is eight, and every year after that. Check the date of the last inspection and that the IUC is paid before the transfer at the Registo Automóvel.
