Which Mini Countryman diesel engine is the most reliable?

The second generation's 2.0 B47 has a better name than the first generation's N47, whose timing chain can stretch. On an R60 Cooper SD, a metallic rattle from cold is a reason to have the chain checked.

Is a Mini Countryman Cooper D worth it over a petrol?

It pays off for drivers covering long distances on open roads, where its low consumption counts. For short urban trips the particulate filter suffers, and a petrol or the plug-in hybrid suits better.

Is there a four-wheel-drive diesel Mini Countryman?

Yes, the Cooper D and Cooper SD were offered with ALL4 in the first two generations. Four-wheel drive helps on mountain roads and wet surfaces but raises consumption.
