Audi A6 2.0 TDI or 3.0 TDI: which should you choose?

The 2.0 TDI is enough for most drivers and pays less IUC thanks to its smaller engine. The 3.0 TDI V6 is smoother and usually comes with quattro and the tiptronic gearbox, but costs more to run.

What are the most common problems with the Audi A6 TDI?

On the C7's 3.0 TDI, the timing chains sit at the gearbox end and replacing them is expensive. On every TDI, watch the EGR valve and particulate filter, and on the C8 the AdBlue system too.

How is the IUC road tax on a diesel Audi A6 calculated?

For cars registered since July 2007, the IUC adds an engine-size component to a CO2 emissions component, plus a diesel surcharge. That is why an A6 3.0 TDI pays clearly more than a 2.0 TDI.

From €1,200 to €69,890, half under €17,950 · Typically 2014 with 199,000 km. Diesel Audi A6s split between the four-cylinder 2.0 TDI and the 3.0 TDI V6. In Portugal the IUC depends on engine size and emissions, so the V6 pays considerably more each year; many cars are imports with their ISV already paid.
