Is the Alfa Romeo Giulietta TCT gearbox reliable?

The dry dual-clutch TCT works well when its software is up to date and servicing has been done. Jerks when manoeuvring slowly or hesitant shifts justify a diagnostic check before buying.

Is the Alfa Romeo Giulia manual or automatic?

Almost every Giulia and every Stelvio has the ZF eight-speed automatic with steering-wheel paddles. It is a robust gearbox that needs only periodic fluid changes.

Should I avoid the Selespeed gearbox on older Alfa Romeos?

The Selespeed in the 147 and 156 is a robotised manual whose hydraulic pump and actuator fail with age. Buyers wanting a comfortable automatic should choose a Giulietta TCT or a newer model.
