Is the latest Passat still a saloon?

No. The generation launched in 2023 is built only as the Variant estate. Earlier generations were sold both as a saloon and as an estate.

What should I know about the Passat diesel emissions recall?

Older TDI engines of the EA189 family, caught up in the 2015 emissions affair, needed a software update and, on some engines, a small added part. Ask for proof that the recall was done, or have a Volkswagen dealer check the VIN.

What is the Passat Alltrack?

A Variant with raised suspension, body protection and 4Motion all-wheel drive, built for poor roads and towing. Check that the four-wheel-drive coupling has had its regular oil changes.

Is the Passat GTE a good buy?

It pairs a petrol engine with an electric motor and a battery charged at a socket, enough for short daily trips on electricity. It carries Crit'Air 1; check the battery's condition and that the charging cable comes with the car.
