Question 1

Will the hybrid battery of a used Yaris need replacing?

Accepted Answer

The hybrid battery is designed to last the life of the car and replacement is uncommon. Toyota offers a hybrid health check, and a car serviced in its network may still carry cover for the battery.

Question 2

Is the Yaris made in France?

Accepted Answer

Yes, the Yaris has been built at Toyota's Onnaing plant near Valenciennes since 2001, for France and much of Europe. That makes it a familiar car in French garages and dealerships.

Question 3

Hybrid or petrol Yaris?

Accepted Answer

The hybrid suits city driving, where it often runs on electric power and uses less fuel, and it always comes with an automatic e-CVT transmission. A petrol Yaris with a manual gearbox is simpler and usually cheaper to buy. Both get Crit'Air 1 when they meet Euro 5 or 6.

Question 4

What is the GR Yaris?

Accepted Answer

The GR Yaris is a three-door, four-wheel-drive performance model with a turbocharged three-cylinder petrol engine, developed by Toyota Gazoo Racing. It shares little beyond its name with the regular Yaris and is sought after by enthusiasts.
