How many gears does the manual SEAT Ibiza have?

Five on the 1.0 MPI and the entry-level 1.0 TSI, six on the more powerful TSI versions. The gearbox fitted is usually stated in the car's specification sheet.

What should I check on a manual SEAT Ibiza?

Check that the clutch bites well before the top of the pedal and that second and third engage without crunching. On sporty FR versions, look for signs of hard driving such as a worn clutch.

Manual or DSG: which SEAT Ibiza should I choose?

The manual is cheaper to buy and to repair, and it is what most used Ibizas have. The DSG makes town driving easier but needs a smooth, jolt-free test drive.

From €900 to €25,326, half under €14,500 · Typically 2023 with 36,624 km. The manual is the Ibiza's natural gearbox: five speeds with the 1.0 MPI and the entry 1.0 TSI, six with the more powerful TSI engines of the fifth generation. The DSG dual-clutch was optional, so a manual is the common, cheaper-to-run choice.
