Is the Renault Arkana EDC gearbox reliable?

The EDC dual-clutch is generally robust but can feel jerky when creeping in traffic. Check that the software updates issued by Renault have been applied.

How does the Renault Arkana E-Tech automatic gearbox work?

It has neither a clutch pedal nor a torque converter: electric motors move the car away and smooth the shifts of a dog-clutch gearbox. A brief hesitation under hard acceleration is normal, not a fault.

Does a used Renault Arkana need a contrôle technique?

Only once it is over four years old, when the seller must provide a contrôle technique carried out within the last six months. The first Arkanas, from 2021, have reached that age.

From €6,400 to €37,490, half under €20,400 · Typically 2023 with 44,532 km. Two different automatics sit behind the Arkana badge: the seven-speed EDC dual-clutch paired with the 1.3 TCe petrol, and the E-Tech hybrid's multi-mode gearbox, which pulls away on electric power. A drive in slow traffic shows each one's character.
