Question 1

How often does a used Peugeot van need inspecting?

Accepted Answer

A light commercial vehicle has its first contrôle technique at four years and then one every two years, like a car, plus a complementary pollution check in each year between them. When a van over four years old is sold, its contrôle technique must be less than six months old.

Question 2

Can I drive a Peugeot Boxer on a car licence?

Accepted Answer

Yes, as long as its gross vehicle weight does not exceed 3.5 tonnes, which covers most Boxer versions; the figure is in field F.2 of the carte grise. Heavier versions need a C1 licence.

Question 3

Should a business compare Peugeot van prices with or without VAT?

Accepted Answer

Businesses usually compare prices excluding VAT, because the VAT on a utility vehicle is generally recoverable for a company registered for it. A private seller charges no VAT, so a dealer's price and a private price are not directly comparable for a business buyer.

Question 4

What should I check on an electric Peugeot e-Partner or e-Expert?

Accepted Answer

Ask for a battery health report and check the charging cable and the charging speeds the van accepts. Range drops noticeably with a full load and in cold weather, so judge it against your daily rounds.
