Question 1

Does the Peugeot 2008 have four-wheel drive?

Accepted Answer

No, every 2008 drives its front wheels only. Some versions carry Grip Control, which adapts traction to mud, snow or sand, but it is no substitute for four-wheel drive.

Question 2

What should I check on a Peugeot 2008 with the 1.2 PureTech engine?

Accepted Answer

The timing belt on this engine runs in oil and can wear early, shedding debris into the lubrication system. Ask for proof of belt inspections or replacement, and check whether the manufacturer's extended cover for this fault still applies to the car.

Question 3

Which Crit'Air sticker does a used Peugeot 2008 get?

Accepted Answer

Petrol versions from Euro 5 onwards get Crit'Air 1, Euro 5 and 6 diesels get Crit'Air 2, and the e-2008 gets the green sticker reserved for electric cars. Crit'Air 2 diesels may be restricted in some French low-emission zones.

Question 4

What paperwork comes with a private sale of a Peugeot 2008 in France?

Accepted Answer

The seller hands over the carte grise crossed through, a certificat de cession and, for a car over four years old, a contrôle technique report less than six months old. The buyer then registers the car in their name online.
