Actions

Is the Opel Astra L 1.2 Turbo reliable?

The Astra L's 1.2 Turbo shares its timing belt running in oil with other Stellantis models, and the belt can degrade early if the wrong oil is used or changes are late. Ask for proof of oil changes with the specified oil and check whether the belt has been replaced.

Which petrol Opel Astra is the best used buy?

The Astra K 1.4 Turbo is a smooth and proven choice, while the three-cylinder 1.0 and 1.2 Turbo are more economical in town. Older Astra J cars with the non-turbo 1.6 are simple but thirstier.

Which Crit'Air sticker does a petrol Opel Astra get?

A petrol Astra from Euro 5 onwards, roughly from 2011, gets the Crit'Air 1 sticker, and an older Euro 4 car gets Crit'Air 2. Each low-emission zone sets which stickers it admits, so check the cities you drive in.
