Question 1

Which Crit'Air sticker does a used Micra get?

Accepted Answer

A petrol Micra registered from 2011 is Crit'Air 1, one from 2006 to 2010 Crit'Air 2 and an older one Crit'Air 3. A diesel sits one class worse than a petrol of the same age, which matters in the low-emission zones of French cities.

Question 2

Does the K14 Micra share parts with Renault?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Built by Renault at Flins, it uses engines from the Renault-Nissan alliance, including the turbocharged 0.9 and 1.0 petrol and the 1.5 dCi diesel, so parts and servicing are easy to find in France.

Question 3

What does a used Micra need from its contrôle technique?

Accepted Answer

Almost every Micra on sale is over four years old, so the seller must hand over a contrôle technique report less than six months old. Read the defects it lists, since major ones must be repaired and rechecked within two months.

Question 4

What should I check on a Micra C+C?

Accepted Answer

The C+C is the coupé-cabriolet version of the K12, with a folding glass roof. Work the roof several times and look for damp in the boot and on the carpets, since the seals and folding mechanism are the parts only this version has.
