Question 1

What is the difference between the Tucson Hybrid and Plug-in Hybrid?

Accepted Answer

The Hybrid recharges its small battery while driving and braking and never needs a plug. The Plug-in Hybrid has a much larger battery charged from a socket or wallbox, letting it cover short daily trips on electricity alone. Without regular charging it loses most of that advantage.

Question 2

Does the Tucson Hybrid use a CVT gearbox?

Accepted Answer

No, the full hybrid uses a conventional six-speed automatic with the electric motor placed between engine and gearbox. It therefore drives much like an ordinary automatic, without the revving feel of some CVT-based hybrids.

Question 3

Which Crit'Air sticker does a hybrid Tucson get?

Accepted Answer

Petrol Hybrid and Plug-in Hybrid versions get Crit'Air 1. A 48-volt mild-hybrid diesel is still a diesel for the sticker and gets Crit'Air 2, which some French low-emission zones already restrict.

Question 4

Is the Hyundai warranty passed on to the next owner?

Accepted Answer

Yes, the manufacturer warranty stays with the car until it expires, provided servicing has followed the schedule. Ask for the service book and check the first registration date on the carte grise to see how long remains.
