Which diesel engine is best in a used Ford Focus?

The 1.5 EcoBlue of the fourth-generation Focus is economical and covers most needs, while the 2.0 EcoBlue suits heavy loads and long motorway runs. Among older cars, the 1.5 TDCi replaced the 1.6 TDCi with the 2014 facelift.

Does a diesel Ford Focus need AdBlue?

Fourth-generation Focus EcoBlue diesels use AdBlue from a separate tank, and the engine will not restart once that tank runs dry. Most third-generation TDCi engines do without it.

Is a diesel Ford Focus a good choice for city driving in France?

Mostly short urban trips let the particulate filter clog, and diesels carry Crit'Air 2, which low-emission zones may restrict more over time. A diesel Focus makes most sense for regular long journeys.
