Question 1

What is Ferrari Approved?

Accepted Answer

Ferrari Approved is the brand's certified pre-owned programme: cars pass a technical inspection at an official dealer and are sold with a warranty. On a car whose repairs are this expensive, that cover is often worth paying for.

Question 2

Does a used Ferrari's servicing carry over to the next owner?

Accepted Answer

Recent Ferraris come with the seven-year Genuine Maintenance programme, which covers scheduled servicing for the first seven years and passes to the next owner with the car. Check the remaining period with an official dealer before buying.

Question 3

Why is a Ferrari so expensive to register in France?

Accepted Answer

The carte grise is charged per fiscal horsepower (cheval fiscal), at a rate each region sets, and a Ferrari carries a great many. An imported car being registered in France for the first time can also owe the CO2 malus.

Question 4

Can a Ferrari enter the low-emission zones?

Accepted Answer

Access depends on the Crit'Air sticker, which follows the fuel and Euro standard rather than the engine size. A petrol Ferrari built to Euro 5 or Euro 6 gets Crit'Air 1, as do the plug-in hybrid SF90 and 296.

Question 5

Can a classic Ferrari get a collector's registration?

Accepted Answer

A car over 30 years old can be registered with a carte grise de collection, which spaces the contrôle technique to once every five years. Ferrari Classiche certification, issued by the factory, confirms that a classic's key components are original.
