Question 1

Is a 4x4 Duster worth it?

Accepted Answer

It is for snowy mountain roads, muddy tracks or towing on loose ground; on tarmac a front-wheel-drive Duster uses less fuel. The drive type is shown in the version name, and the selector should switch modes cleanly on a test drive.

Question 2

How does the LPG Duster work in France?

Accepted Answer

The ECO-G models run on petrol or LPG, switching between two tanks, and LPG is sold at many French service stations at a lower price per litre than petrol. They normally qualify for Crit'Air 1, which helps in low-emission zones.

Question 3

Can a diesel Duster still enter low-emission zones?

Accepted Answer

A recent diesel carries Crit'Air 2, which some French low-emission zones restrict or plan to restrict. If you often drive into a large city, check its current rules before choosing a diesel over a petrol or LPG version.

Question 4

What paperwork comes with the sale of a Duster?

Accepted Answer

The seller hands over the carte grise crossed through and signed, a certificate of sale and, for a car over four years old, a contrôle technique under six months old. The new owner then has a month to register it in their name.
