Question 1

What is the difference between the Berlingo and the Berlingo Van?

Accepted Answer

The Berlingo is the passenger version, with rear seats, side windows and sliding doors, registered as a private car. The Berlingo Van is the utility version, with a closed load area and usually two or three seats; it is normally registered as a camionnette (CTTE) and suits a business more than a family.

Question 2

Which Berlingo seats seven?

Accepted Answer

On the third generation, sold since 2018, the long XL body is the one offered with a third row of seats. Check that the car you view actually has all seven seats fitted.

Question 3

What should I check on a 1.2 PureTech Berlingo?

Accepted Answer

The three-cylinder PureTech uses a timing belt that runs in oil and can wear faster than planned, shedding debris into the lubrication circuit. Ask for invoices showing when it was inspected or replaced.

Question 4

Can a diesel Berlingo still enter the low-emission zones?

Accepted Answer

A Euro 5 or Euro 6 diesel gets the Crit'Air 2 sticker, the best a diesel can obtain, while older HDi models are rated lower. The electric ë-Berlingo carries the green sticker and can enter every zone.

Question 5

Is the electric ë-Berlingo a good used buy?

Accepted Answer

It suits short, regular trips and urban deliveries better than long motorway runs. Ask for a battery health report and check which charging cable comes with the car.
