Manual or DSG in a used VW Passat?

The manual is simpler and cheaper to maintain, and avoids the mechatronics repairs some DSG gearboxes need. The DSG is more comfortable in traffic, but its wet-clutch version needs regular oil changes.

No, the Passat launched in 2023 is sold only with the DSG automatic. A buyer wanting a manual Passat must choose between the B6, B7 and B8, the last of which was built until 2023.
