Question 1

Is a hybrid Toyota worth it in Braga?

Accepted Answer

In town and on the climbs around Braga, a hybrid often runs on electric power at low speed and recovers energy on the way down. If most of your driving is long motorway trips towards Porto or Spain, the advantage narrows.

Question 2

What paperwork do I need when buying a Toyota from a private seller?

Accepted Answer

The change of ownership is registered at the Registo Automóvel, online or at a registry office, with both buyer and seller signing the request. Ask to see the registration certificate and proof that the IUC is paid and the IPO inspection is current.

Question 3

Is a Toyota Hilux registered as a commercial vehicle?

Accepted Answer

Many Hilux pickups in Portugal are registered as light goods vehicles, which changes how they are taxed and what they may be used for. Check the category on the registration certificate before you buy, especially if it is to be a family car.

Question 4

Does Toyota extend the warranty on used cars?

Accepted Answer

Toyota Relax can extend cover on a Toyota that keeps being serviced at an official workshop, up to an age and mileage limit. Ask the seller for the service history to see whether the car still qualifies.
