Is the Tesla Model 3 an automatic?

Yes. The Model 3 uses a single-speed reduction gear, so it drives like an automatic with no gear changes at all. Strong regenerative braking lets you slow down mostly by lifting off.

How do you select drive in a Tesla Model 3 Highland?

The Highland facelift removed the column stalk, so drive and reverse are chosen by swiping on the touchscreen. Earlier Model 3s use a stalk on the right of the steering column.

Does the Tesla Model 3's automatic drive need servicing?

Very little: there is no clutch or multi-speed gearbox. Check the brakes, tyres, cabin filter and the front suspension, where some cars developed knocking from the upper control arms.
