Question 1

Which Suzuki models have four-wheel drive?

Accepted Answer

AllGrip four-wheel drive has been offered on versions of the Vitara, S-Cross, Ignis and Swift, and the Jimny has a part-time system with low-range gears. Many cars of the same models are front-wheel drive only, so check the papers.

Question 2

Are the Suzuki Swace and Across really Toyotas?

Accepted Answer

Yes. The Swace is based on the Toyota Corolla Touring Sports and the Across on the RAV4 plug-in hybrid, both built by Toyota. They share those cars' engines and hybrid systems.

Question 3

Is the Suzuki Jimny a good everyday car?

Accepted Answer

It is excellent off-road thanks to its ladder frame and low-range gearbox, and easy to park in town. On the motorway it is noisier and firmer than a crossover, and the boot is small with the rear seats up.

Question 4

How is a used Suzuki taxed in Portugal?

Accepted Answer

Like any car registered from July 2007, it pays the annual IUC by cylinder capacity and CO2 emissions, and Suzuki's small petrol engines sit in the lower bands. A car imported from another EU country also pays ISV once, before Portuguese registration.
